Rebel Stampers ATC Swap - Feb

The technique theme for this month's ATC Swap on the Rebel Stampers forum is Shrink Plastic. Luckily I could remember where I had put my shrink plastic as its ages since I last used it.
For the first ATC I made a pink and orange DI background. The cats were diecut from translucent and black shrink plastic. I added some diecut grass and stamped some flowers. The text is from a Cuttlebug die.
The second ATC had a background of picked raspberry, mowed lawn and ripe persimmon DIs and a stencil with Stazon black. I used a couple of Dina Wakley stamps on some shrink plastic and cut them out. The text is from a Non Sequitur set. I added some star shaped gems to finish.

Rebel Stampers ATC Swap - Feb

Lots of ATCs this month - in addition to my ongoing Alphabet swap I am also taking part in the Rebel Stampers ATC swap. The theme this month is silhouette.
My first ATC has a background of brushed DIs and a Katzelkraft text stamp. The main image is by Simple Expressions.
The second ATC has a Clarity stamp as its main image with a masked DI background. As it's Valentines Day this month I added some small punched hearts.

Alphabet ATCs - G for Geisha

My final Alphabet ATC this month is G for Geisha. I smooshed some DIs over the background and used a crackle effect and a corner stamp. I added some gold washi tape and then put a Hobby Art geisha stamp on top.

Alphabet ATCs - G for Gear

My second Alphabet ATC this month is G for Gear, the perfect opportunity to use my X Cut set of cogs and gears. I stamped an Elusive Images background in grey for an industrial effect and cut some gears with metallic papers. I embellished with some brads and eyelets.

Monthly Challenge

Continuing with 'The Months' poem by Sara Coleridge for the Craft Barn blog challenge we have to use the verse for February with the addition of cherubs and a heart. It took me a while to get my head around this but here is the result. I brushed faded jeans, spiced marmalade, worn lipstick and tumbled glass DIs over the page and then stamped the B Line Designs image (yes it's more likely a river than a lake but it was one of the few expanse of water images I had). I decided that the only way I could incorporate my (punched) cherubs would be by them holding the verse with a small heart embellishment. I have stamped a raindrop image around the sides and along the bottom in Brilliance platinum planet which catches the light and gives a watery effect.
I am very intrigued to see how everyone else manages the cherub and hearts on this page!

UK Scrappers Pantone Challenge - Flame

Another card for the Pantone challenge on UK Scrappers forum. I used the same Indigo Blu poppy stamp but as a background to the main image which is by Katzelkraft. I added a pop of colour to the flowers, rounded the corners (the punch does the hearts as well) and mounted it on a red card blank.

Alphabet ATCs - G for Garden

This month's letter for the Alphabet ATC swap is G. My first word is Garden. I used a grass diecut on a DI background and added some flower stamps by Darkroom Door, Paper Artsy and Paula Pascual. I embellished with a couple of butterfly eyelets and some flower shaped brads.

UK Scrappers Pantone Challenge - Flame

There is a colour challenge on the UK Scrappers forum. Every month Mystik Nat chooses a colour from Pantone's colour selections for Spring 2017 and provides some inspiration pics using that colour.  We have to make a card using that colour. February's colour is flame.
I went to a craft show at Sandown Park last weekend and picked up a few sets of marker pens. I have avoided getting into Copics etc because I'm not really into detailed colouring and shading and also I was not prepared to shell out loads of cash on getting all 2 million different colours (ok I exaggerate slightly but I would rather buy stamps than pens). These First Edition marker pens were a bargain price and what I liked was that they came in sets of 6 shades of a basic colour eg red, green, blue etc. So having bought all 7 sets that were available I had to give them a try.
I used an Indigo Blu stamp with Memento black ink and had a great time colouring in. The stamp is quite large and fills an A6 card so after trimming it I mounted it onto a red card blank. The vertical greeting seemed to fit nicely in the remaining  white space.
